Aromatherapy on the Road

There is a new type of diffuser on the market that might diffuse more than essential oils. It is a device that plugs into your car’s power outlet and releases the oil through a fiber pad inside the machine. This product even has the backing of the United States Department of Transportation.

There are basically two reasons to throw out those old Christmas tree air filters and work with this device. First the Department of Transportation is concerned with a new push for keeping drivers awake and alert on America’s roadways. Essential oils have proven to help in that fight. Peppermint in particular is known to have that response, and is highly recommended. Ginger, Rosemary, and Grapefruit are also oils known to have the intended response of keeping you awake.

On the other hand, many people in this world find driving a chore because they get so angry behind the wheel. Essential oils that have a calming effect might just be the answer. Lavender oil is the first that comes to mind. Many people don’t know that eucalyptus can be both calming and increase alertness, so it may be the best in this case. Either way, aromatherapy in your car can provide a pleasant and safe driving experience in the future.
